The Best Turkey Brine: Our Secret Recipe

Ingredients

  • Turkey Breast or Leg
  • Apple Cider 2L
  • Kosher Salt ¾cups
  • Fresh Sage ¼ bunch
  • Fresh Thyme 1/8 bunch
  • Bay Leaves 4
  • Cold water 2L
  • Garlic Cloves 3 smashed
  • Lemon cut into ¼’s

Directions

  1. Combine in a pot on the stovetop, 1L of apple cider and all the dry ingredients
  2. Bring to a boil all the dry ingredients and then simmer for 5 minutes until the salt is dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool completely, then add the remaining apple cider and cold water
  3. Add all the remaining ingredients
  4. Place the turkey in the bucket with the brine for 2 full days, then allow the turkey to dry over night before cooking
