Our Preferred Preparation for Ground Chicken

We think chicken burgers are so underrated. Build your patties from ground chicken using some seasoning, garlic, and egg, and then roll them in breadcrumbs before getting the patties cooking on a skillet. Serve your chicken burgers on a bun with a slice of your favorite cheese, tomato, and a thin layer of mayo. You can even buy chicken burgers premade.

    How It Ships...

    Our ground chicken is cut and ground by hand in our Toronto butcher shop and then immediately vacuum sealed and shipped to your door on our own fleet of refrigerated trucks. We also have in-store pick up available.

    The Butcher Shoppe sources our chickens from local Ontario chicken farms and grinds the meat by hand in our Toronto butcher shop. 

    We suggest you either prepare or freeze your ground chicken within five days of receiving the order. Don't wash the raw chicken as this only spreads juices to other surfaces. Instead, wash your hands before handling the meat and use a separate cutting board for your raw chicken protein. When cooking your ground chicken, the key is to avoid drying it out.

    A four-ounce serving of ground chicken breast contains around 100 calories and nearly two dozen grams of protein.

    It doesn’t get much better than hand-cut and ground chicken sourced from local Ontario farms. The Butcher Shoppe air-chills our chicken to help it retain its colour and natural flavour without any extra water weight. All our ground chicken comes fresh from all-natural chickens raised on free-run farms in the local area.


    Your order for ground chicken is always hand prepared fresh no more than 24 hours before it is delivered to your door. We use vacuum sealed packaging and deliver on our own fleet of refrigerated trucks.

    Our refrigerated trucks generally deliver to the Greater Toronto Area, including around 250 to 300 kilometers from Toronto. In most cases, you can choose next-day delivery if desired. Currently, delivery is not available past Southern Ontario.

    Grilled Chicken Burgers

    Grillmasters love to boast their own proprietary recipes for grilled ground chicken. We like to keep it simple and make the ground chicken into burger patties with seasoning and ingredients of your choice. Get the grill hot and give the patties a couple of minutes on each side or until properly cooked.

    Broiling Ground Chicken

    Once your broiler is going on high heat, add in the ground chicken meat seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a cajun spice mix of your choosing. For the best results, use a tray on top of the rack and mix the meat after 4-5 minutes or until it's cooked.

    Pan Fried Ground Chicken

    If you're choosing to make pan-fried chicken meatballs, get the pan on medium heat before searing the protein 4-5 minutes on each side. For chicken chili, get a nice sear on the ground chicken with some spices and then work in your additional ingredients.
