“Made from 100% locally raised Ontario chicken.”
It doesn’t get much better than chicken sourced locally from free-run farms in the Ontario area. While most Ontario-sourced chicken is water chilled, The Butcher Shoppe air chills our chickens to help retain their beautiful colour and natural flavour without extra water weight. Our whole raw chickens are fresh, all-natural poultry from right in your own backyard.
Your order for a whole raw chicken is prepared fresh no more than 24 hours before delivery. We use vacuum sealed packaging and ship with our own fleet of refrigerated trucks.
Generally, we deliver to customers within 250 to 300 kilometers from Toronto city using our own refrigerated trucks. Next-day delivery is available in most cases. Note, we currently do not deliver beyond Southern Ontario.
Of course! If you're in the Toronto area, we’d be happy to see you at our butcher's counter. Our retail store is located at 121 Shorncliffe Rd, Etobicoke, ON.
Next-day delivery is FREE for orders over $250! For smaller orders, we have a $25 delivery fee.

Our whole chickens work great for grilled chicken recipes. We like to keep it simple. First butcher your chicken, then throw together your favorite marinade in a ziploc bag (maybe include oil, vinegar, honey, mustard, and lemon juice?), then add your chicken pieces and let that sit for a couple of hours. Heat up the grill, then cook the pieces for a couple of minutes on each side.
To broil your chicken, first butcher your whole bird, then get your broiler going on high. Season your pieces of chicken by rubbing them down; we recommend a mix of olive oil, salt, pepper, and a cajun spice mix. Next, place your chicken pieces on the rack and broil them for a few minutes on each side until they're sufficiently cooked.
Pan-cooked chicken is an absolute delight, especially when the pieces are butchered fresh from a whole chicken! We like to pat our chicken pieces dry, then coat them in a mix of flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Next, heat up the pan on medium heat and add a generous drizzle of oil before searing the chicken for a few on each side.
