Ingredients

  • The Butcher Shoppe turkey leg
  • 2 tablespoons oil or butter
  • Chopped herbs of choice
  • Veggies to roast (optional)

Directions

  1. Remove turkey leg from fridge 3 hours before roastingChoose favourite herbs to cover skin and rub liberally over skin with butter or oil. Allow to marinate at room temperature
  2. TIP —Sage, rosemary and thyme recommended
  3. Preheat oven to 390F (200C)Place turkey leg on baking tray with roasting rack (or on a bed of vegetables) and place in oven
  4. TIP — Add 1 cup of water or stock
  5. When cooked, remove from oven and allow to rest for 30 minutes
  6. T I P — If you don’t have a meat thermometer, stick a skewer or sharp knife into the thickest part of the leg, when the juices run clear, your turkey leg is cooked.
  7. COOKED TEMPERATURE 165F
