What to Serve with Duck Breast

The rich, tender flavour of our Duck Breast pairs beautifully with side dishes that complement its natural depth. Here are some perfect pairings to elevate your meal:

  • Wild Rice Pilaf: The nutty, earthy tones of wild rice perfectly complement the duck, especially when drizzled with beef bone broth for extra depth.
  • Pancetta Roasted Brussels Sprouts: Caramelized sprouts with crispy pancetta bring smoky, salty notes that perfectly balance the duck’s tender richness.
  • Crispy Tallow Potatoes: Roasted in rich beef tallow until crisp and golden, these potatoes add a savoury depth that enhances the duck’s luxurious flavour. Season with a dash of our Signature Steak Spice for an added kick.

How to Cook Duck Breast (Pan-Seared, Oven-Roasted, or Grilled)

Duck Breast is a versatile cut that can be prepared in several ways to highlight its rich, tender flavour. Here are three simple methods to cook it to perfection:

  • Pan-Seared:
  1. Preheat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the duck breast lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the breast skin-side down and cook for 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Flip the breast and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  5. Let the duck rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Oven-Roasted:
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sear the duck breast in a hot pan, skin-side down, for 3-4 minutes until the skin crisps.
  3. Transfer the pan to the preheated oven and roast for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Let the duck breast rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
  • Grilled Method:
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the duck breast with your favourite spices or a simple salt and pepper rub.
  3. Grill the duck breast, skin-side down, for 4-5 minutes to crisp the skin.
  4. Flip the breast and cook for another 3-4 minutes, adjusting the cooking time based on thickness.
  5. Rest the duck for a few minutes before slicing to serve.
